Ryan and Jacqui Bosch left Pomona at 3 a.m. on 16 February 2026 and rode 1,614 km to Cape Town in 15 hours 51 minutes – two Harley-Davidsons, one long day, and a running commentary on the temperature. Ryan tells it: 3 degrees of wind chill at Harrismith, 39 degrees at Worcester, and an ice cream stop in Laingsburg that was simply non-negotiable.

Dominic Spreemann rode the LAMGAT 1610 on a Royal Enfield Himalayan – the smallest displacement bike used yet on a South African Lamgat ride. 1,776 km from Midrand through Bloemfontein, Kimberley, Upington and Kuruman and back, in 20 hours 20 minutes. This is his own account of the planning, the cold, the trucks, and the road he says was designed by a biker.
